Cook
Reports to: Shift Lead
Overview:
The Line Cook prepares
food and makes sure servers deliver each dish to customers in a timely manner. The Line Cook is responsible for that station's workflow
and getting meals out on time. They oversee the cooking process from start to
finish and determine how much time each step requires.
Job Responsibilities:

Sets up and stocks food items and necessary
supplies
·
Prepares food items by cutting, chopping,
mixing, and preparing sauces
·
Cooks’ food items by grilling, frying, sauteing,
and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards
·
Maintains cleanliness and complies with food
sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage
·
Cleans and sanitizes cooking surfaces at the
end of shift
Skills/Qualifications:

Basic
written and verbal communication skills

directions and instructions

Physical
strength and stamina to spend long hours standing and performing repetitive
motions

since hours for a line cook may vary and include weekends, evenings and
holidays
Education
and Experience Requirements:
·
High school
diploma or GED
·
One
to two years of experience as a line cook, restaurant cook, or prep cook
·
Certificate
of culinary arts preferred
·
Experience
with various cooking methods and procedures
·
Familiar
with industry best practices
Qualities
Preferred:
·
Good
with people
·
Approachable
by staff and members
·
Team
player that will be able to help at other properties if needed for the growth of
the whole company of Russell Lands
